Geodesign: a solution for balancing spatial interests?

Geodesign aims to ensure that planning is designed in a participatory and interactive way on the basis of geoinformation.
At DETEC, Geodesign was tested in 2018 on the basis of a concrete but fictitious example. Depending on the results, there is great potential for networking planning processes and applying them digitally to achieve faster and more transparent concrete results while interfacing with implementation and monitoring.
The next step is to test and develop the methodology in Switzerland through an application. To do this, the offices must collaborate, also using new forms of work. In the medium term, the objective is to have integrated planning systems in place to carry out the various spatial and transport planning tasks, for example in the field of agglomeration projects, master and sectoral plans and infrastructure development.
